How does it work?

We offer rebuild and exchange services for selected Ford Model T, Model A and Early V8 components. Services include steering boxes, carburettors, generators, starters, distributors, brake cross-shafts and related restoration components. Exchange availability varies by part, model and core condition.

  • As soon as we receive your original core, we will ship you a fully rebuilt equivelant.

  • Install the fully rebuilt part straight into your car and get up and running instantly.

Carburetor Rebuilds

  • Rebuilt Model "A" Carburettor : Dissembled, hot tanked, degreased, media blasted , removed all passage plugs, cleaned out internal passages then run through the ultrasonic cleaner. Assemble parts, set the main & cap jet, adjust the float level to 5/8". Run rebuilt carburetor on test engine then the final road test. Parts & Labour

  • Rebuilt Model "B" Carburettor : Dissembled, hot tanked, degreased, media blasted , removed all passage plugs, cleaned out internal passages then run through the ultrasonic cleaner. Steering Box Rebuilds

  • Equipped with a magneto system for ignition and lighting, later models included a belt-driven generator for better electrical power management. This generator was simple and robust, designed to meet the basic electrical needs of early automobiles.

  • Utilises a more advanced generator system with a cutout relay. This setup improved the reliability and efficiency of the vehicle’s electrical system, providing more consistent power for lighting and ignition, and making it easier to maintain a charged battery.

  • Features a more powerful generator capable of handling increased electrical loads. This generator supported the demands of the V8 engine and additional electrical accessories, offering improved performance and reliability. It was a significant upgrade from previous models, reflecting the advancements in automotive electrical systems during this period.

Ford Model A, Model T and Early V8 axle housing rebuild and exchange service

Axle Housings

  • Early Model T vehicles were hand cranked, which required manual effort to start the engine. Later models introduced an electric starter, significantly improving convenience and reliability, especially in cold weather.

Distributors

  • Features a simple, manually adjusted distributor with a single-point system. This design allowed for easy maintenance and straightforward timing adjustments, providing reliable ignition for the Model A's four-cylinder engine.

  • Rebuilt 1932 to Early 1936 V-8 Distributor Complete with: Points, Rotor, Vacuum Piston Bushes Front & Back. Set up on a Timing Jig and then Tested on a Sun Distributor Machine. (Excludes Coil)

  • Rebuilt 1937 to Early 1941 V-8 Distributor Complete with: Points, Rotor, Vacuum Piston Bushes Front & Back. Set up on a Timing Jig and then Tested on a Sun Distributor Machine. (Excludes Coil)

  • Known for the distinctive "crab" style distributor, which was compact and designed to fit the flathead V8 engines more efficiently. This distributor featured improved internal components for better durability and performance, offering enhanced reliability and easier servicing.
